Canvas Dreams, LLC, a sustainable Web host based in Portland, Oregon, is pleased to announce it is now a Certified B Corporation.

Though not a legally-recognized legal structure, B Corporations operate on the basis of ethics and transparency. Enforced through legal verbiage in their Articles of Incorporation and Operating Agreement, a B Corporaton's company management must adhere to principles of ethics, honesty, and integrity in their decision-making processes and activities within the company.

"Canvas Dreams has always operated on these principles, so becoming a B Corp didn't require us to change how we are doing things", says David Anderson, Principal of the company. "The difference is that now, we have the legal backing in our agreement to ensure all current and future management adhere to these principles. Beyond this, we now also have externally certified metrics to demonstrate our commitment to ethical behavior with transparency".
